Hi, I’m Beth, the founder and owner of Bareiter Counseling Center. Life is full of struggles and difficult experiences that I would be honored to help you walk through on your healing journey. I strive to create a nurturing environment where you can feel safe in working through your pain. I value the relationship that we will develop through offering a compassionate and supportive approach to therapy. We can explore together the meaning behind your story.

How I Help

During therapeutic conversations, I ask thought provoking questions that help you reflect. These questions encourage deeper self-awareness to open the door to real and lasting change. Together we will work toward helping you identify and explore the source of what is hindering you from a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

My Specialties

Trauma

Facing your trauma is a daunting task. I count it a privilege to work with you on your healing journey. We will discover together the relational patterns that are impacting you and how your early trauma affects you in your current relationships.   I have extensive training in Internal Family Systems which is a powerful way to work through your pain and experience lasting healing.

It is common for couples to struggle in their relationships. Couples counseling provides a safe space to interrupt the repetitive patterns that keep you stuck. Together we can look at the barriers keeping you from the relationship you are seeking. I will help you explore your feelings and communicate your perspective in a respectful and empathic way.

Depression/Anxiety

Have you found yourself not enjoying the things that you used to enjoy? Are you finding yourself more on edge or having ruminating thoughts? I can help you explore the roots of these difficulties and strengthen your sense of self to find peace and freedom. The past can continue to operate powerfully in our unconscious. We can perceive and respond to situations in ways that are more to do with early experiences than the present. Therapy can help you make sense of your responses and develop deeper understanding, awareness and healing.

More About Me

In the plethora of free time I experience (haha), you can find me watching my son play high school football and enjoying my new found interest in college football. I also love reading, journaling and being in nature. The adventurer in me enjoys scuba diving and skiing whenever I get the chance.

I have advanced training in Internal Family Systems and Experiential Therapy as well as Gottman Couples Training. I am currently training at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas to expand my work as a clinician. I have been in private practice since 1991.
